My Girlfriend the Machinist

There was this girl I liked in college. I was studying to be a biologist and she was trying to get her business degree. For the most part, I think she only went to get her degree because she wanted to take over her father’s shop one day. He owned this machinist shop, and she loved to work on the equipment and make sure everything ran smoothly. She was an odd girl. One day I tried to impress her by telling her that I had once worked with hydraulic press breaks. She suddenly became very interested in me, asking me all sorts of probing questions. This would have been great, and believe me I was loving the attention, but I had never even seen a hydraulic press brake before! I suppose I should have chosen something a little less complicated to lie about. As it was, she thought my ignorance was cute and tried to educate me over coffee. I knew I liked machines!
