Why you need to understand organizational change management
There are many reasons why a merger can run off the rails. When two companies merge it is the business case that provides the motivation. When two different bodies of employees come together a separate set of organizational dynamics unfold. Sadly, executives often do not take this into consideration when they are planning the change. Having a good understanding of organizational change management is definitely a distinct advantage. It widens your horizons and allows you to better understand the implications of management changes. If you want to have the highest and best chance of a merger success then change management is an area that deserves serious investigation.
