When you are in the process of purchasing a phone system for your company or organization, the main difference to learn about between the key system vs PBX is the actual number of lines that can be held by each system. The max number of lines that a key system can take is forty to fifty and that depends on the manufacturer of the key system. The PBX system has no limit to the number of lines it can handle which makes it very attractive to large companies and organizations. There are some upgraded key systems that can handle up to sixty but very few.
